FIFA Unveils Fan-Voted Best XI of the 2026 World Cup

FIFA has officially revealed the fan-voted Best XI of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, recognising the standout performers who captured the imagination of supporters throughout the tournament.

Fresh off their World Cup triumph, Spain lead the way with three players in the prestigious lineup. Runners-up Argentina are represented by two stars, while third-placed France also have three players included, underlining the strength and quality displayed by Didier Deschamps’ side during the competition.

One of the biggest surprises in the team is the inclusion of Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha. The veteran shot-stopper became a fan favourite after delivering a series of heroic performances that inspired Cape Verde to a historic quarter-final appearance—the nation’s best-ever finish at a FIFA World Cup. His remarkable displays earned him more fan votes than Spain’s Golden Glove winner, Unai Simón.

The defence features an impressive blend of reliability and attacking quality, with Spain’s Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella occupying the full-back positions. Argentina’s Lisandro Martínez and France’s Dayot Upamecano complete the back four after producing consistently commanding performances throughout the tournament.

In midfield, Spain’s Rodri anchors the trio alongside France’s Michael Olise and England’s Jude Bellingham. Rodri once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the world’s finest midfielders, controlling games with his composure and intelligence as Spain lifted the trophy. Olise emerged as one of the tournament’s breakout stars with a string of influential displays, while Bellingham played a pivotal role in England’s run to the semi-finals with his energy, creativity and leadership.

The attacking line is filled with some of football’s biggest names. Lionel Messi earns a place after inspiring Argentina to a second consecutive World Cup final, despite a quiet performance in the final against Spain. Norway’s Erling Haaland, one of the tournament’s leading goalscorers, also features after another prolific campaign, while France captain Kylian Mbappé completes the frontline following yet another exceptional World Cup performance.
