Arsenal Confirm William Saliba Set for Extended Spell on the Sidelines with Back Injury

Arsenal have confirmed that defender William Saliba will be sidelined for an extended period after sustaining a back injury while representing France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The French centre-back returned to London for further specialist assessments, with the club confirming that surgery will not be required. Instead, Saliba will begin a carefully managed rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Arsenal’s medical team.
