Young Jonn Postpones “Blue Disco” Album Amid Rising Insecurity in Nigeria
Nigerian music star Young Jonn has announced a sudden shift in his album rollout, sharing an emotional message that has left fans both touched and curious. The artist revealed that he is postponing the release of his highly anticipated album, Blue Disco, due to the worsening insecurity across the country.
Young Jonn made the announcement on Thursday, November 20, 2025, through a heartfelt statement posted on his official X account. He explained that the current atmosphere of fear, grief, and uncertainty has made it difficult for him to proceed with a celebratory album launch.
“It’s disheartening that Nigeria is still confronted with such overwhelming challenges; the insecurity has become unbearable,” he wrote. “It’s very clear that the leaders and we citizens must rise to do better, even as we pray for God’s strength to guide and sustain us through these difficult times. In light of these, I’ve decided to postpone the release of my album Blue Disco to a later date.”
He ended the message with a prayer for national healing, adding:
“Above all, I’m praying for healing across our nation that God restores peace, unity and hope to Nigeria.”
Young Jonn’s announcement comes at a time when several parts of the country are grappling with violent attacks, kidnappings, and rising tension issues that have sparked widespread outrage and renewed criticism of the government’s handling of national security.
The hitmaker, who has spent months teasing the album, now joins a growing list of public figures choosing to pause major releases and entertainment events in respect for the country’s somber mood.
As of now, a new release date for Blue Disco has not been confirmed.
