Rúben Amorim Provides Update on Bruno Fernandes’ Injury Situation

Manchester United head coach Rúben Amorim has offered an update on the fitness of club captain Bruno Fernandes as the midfielder continues his recovery from a muscle-related injury.

Fernandes, a key figure in United’s campaign this season, was recently forced out of action after picking up the issue. Speaking to the media, Amorim confirmed that the injury is not considered long-term but emphasized that the club will not take any unnecessary risks with one of their most influential players.

Positive Signs in Recovery

The Portuguese coach revealed that Fernandes is responding well to treatment and remains closely involved with the squad despite being sidelined. Amorim praised the captain’s professionalism and leadership, noting that he continues to play an important role off the pitch while pushing hard for a return to full fitness.

Addressing the team’s injury situation, Amorim said:

“I think Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, De Ligt, and Harry Maguire will not be ready for this game.”

He stressed that the medical team will determine Fernandes’ return timeline, with the club prioritizing a complete recovery rather than rushing him back into action. While the midfielder is expected to miss upcoming fixtures, there is optimism he will return to contention in the near future.

Players Currently Unavailable for Manchester United

Manchester United are dealing with a significant injury list at a crucial stage of the season. Alongside Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Matthijs de Ligt, and Harry Maguire are also unavailable due to fitness concerns. In addition, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui are absent as they represent their countries at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Looking Ahead

The eventual return of Fernandes would provide a major boost for United as they navigate a demanding run of fixtures. Amorim remains confident that his captain will return stronger once fully fit, reinforcing the club’s midfield as they push through a challenging period.
