Burna Boy Reacts as England Coach Sarina Wiegman Invites Him to Dance at Ballon d’Or

The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony delivered more than just football glory it gave fans an unexpected crossover between sports and music.

England women’s coach Sarina Wiegman, fresh off being crowned Women’s Coach of the Year, ended her acceptance speech with a playful twist:

“If Burna Boy is around, maybe we could do a little bit of dancing too!”

Her lighthearted remark sent the audience into laughter and quickly went viral, sparking buzz across both the football and Afrobeats communities.

The Nigerian superstar didn’t keep fans waiting. On Monday, September 22, Burna Boy took to Twitter to respond:

“Haha, I’m up for it Sarina! A huge congrats to you and the team @Lionesses.”

His reply has fueled speculation that the exchange could lead to a memorable on-stage moment or even a collaboration between the two.

The night was also monumental for the Lionesses. Wiegman’s squad celebrated a landmark year, having lifted the Euro 2025 trophy after edging Spain on penalties. Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton claimed the prestigious Yashin Trophy, while teammates Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, Leah Williamson, Lucy Bronze, and Hampton herself all placed in the Women’s Player of the Year top 10. To cap it off, Arsenal Women were named Women’s Club of the Year.

Now, with Burna Boy playfully “on board,” fans are eagerly watching to see if football’s most decorated coach and Afrobeats’ global giant will share the spotlight in an unforgettable dance moment.
