Manchester United Hand Major Boost Ahead of Burnley Clash as Maguire and Fernandes Return

Manchester United supporters have received a significant boost ahead of the club’s crucial Premier League trip to Turf Moor to face relegation-threatened Burnley.

Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that both Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes have returned to training and are available for selection. The update comes just two days after Manchester United parted ways with manager Ruben Amorim, following a disappointing result against Leeds United.

Romano shared the update on his official account, saying:

“Good news for Manchester United as understand Harry Maguire returns with the squad for Burnley game. Maguire has been spotted at team’s hotel today and he’s set to be available after long injury. Bruno Fernandes, also back.”

Maguire Boosts United’s Defensive Options

Maguire’s return is a welcome development for United, with the centre-back having missed recent matches through injury. His availability adds much-needed experience and leadership to a defence that has undergone frequent rotation in recent weeks.

The England international has rejoined full training and is now back in contention, giving the coaching staff greater balance and depth at the back ahead of a demanding fixture schedule.

Fernandes Back After Injury Layoff

Bruno Fernandes also makes a timely return after picking up a hamstring injury before Christmas. The Portuguese midfielder was sidelined alongside Mason Mount, who suffered an injury shortly after. Both players missed United’s 1–1 draw against Leeds United on Sunday.

Speaking after the match, Darren Fletcher revealed that Fernandes and Mount had been pushing hard to return, underlining their importance to the squad during a turbulent period for the club.

With key figures returning at a critical moment, United will be hoping to build momentum and stabilize performances as they look to secure vital points against Burnley.
