Victor Osimhen’s Return Date from Injury Confirmed

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is edging closer to a comeback after head coach Okan Buruk confirmed a possible return date during his latest pre-match press conference.

Buruk revealed that the Super Eagles forward has rejoined training but is still managing some discomfort.

“He joined part of the training session and is dealing with some minor discomfort. If he can handle the pain, we’re hopeful he’ll be available for our next match,” the manager told reporters.

The Galatasaray boss further stressed Osimhen’s determination to play in the Champions League against Liverpool, saying:

“We’ll test him again in training. He played for around 10 minutes yesterday, but the pain is still there. We expect him in the squad for the Alanyaspor game and we believe he’ll be ready for the Liverpool match.”

However, according to Sporx, the Turkish giants may avoid rushing him back for the Super Lig clash with Alanyaspor, prioritizing full fitness ahead of the highly anticipated Liverpool encounter.

Osimhen has yet to reach peak fitness since completing his permanent switch to Galatasaray this summer. He has started only two of the opening six league fixtures, a sharp contrast to last season when he scored 37 goals in 41 games during a prolific loan spell from Napoli. Despite limited appearances this term, he has already scored twice in three outings, underlining his reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest strikers.

The Nigerian forward is expected to participate in tactical sessions on Saturday as Buruk finalizes preparations for the Champions League showdown.

Meanwhile, former Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin believes Osimhen will feature regardless of his fitness struggles.

“I think Osimhen will play against Alanyaspor. But even if he had a broken leg, he’d still push to play against Liverpool. He’s not the type to pick and choose games. He’ll give 100 percent when Liverpool comes,” Engin told habersarikirmizi.com.
