Samuel Chukwueze Earns First Premier League Award Nomination with Fulham
Samuel Chukwueze has received his first Premier League award nomination since joining Fulham, following an impressive performance in January 2026.
The Nigeria international winger has been shortlisted for Fulham’s Goal of the Month award after his superb strike against Brighton & Hove Albion. His effort is among thirteen goals selected by the club for the monthly honour, marking a significant milestone in his Premier League journey.
Chukwueze’s goal came at a pivotal moment in Fulham’s 2-1 comeback victory at Craven Cottage. The match also marked his return to club action after representing the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
With 18 minutes left on the clock, Danish defender Joachim Andersen initiated the move with a perfectly measured long pass over Brighton’s defensive line. Chukwueze timed his run brilliantly, controlled the ball with confidence, and calmly slotted his finish into the far corner to draw Fulham level.
The winger is one of nine Fulham players nominated for the award and faces strong competition from teammates such as Tom Cairney, Harrison Reed, and Jade Bradley. Harry Wilson stands out on the shortlist with four separate goals nominated for January’s prize.
As fans await the final decision, attention will be on whether Chukwueze’s composed and intelligent finish will secure him his first individual accolade in English football. Regardless of the outcome, the nomination highlights a promising start to his Premier League career and underlines his growing influence at Fulham.
