Mr P Refutes Viral Report Claiming EFCC Found No Evidence Against Paul and Jude Okoye
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P, has addressed a viral report alleging that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) told a Lagos court it had no evidence to support his accusations of financial misconduct against his brothers and former P-Square partners, Paul and Jude Okoye.
The long-running family and business dispute resurfaced after Punch reported that, during a cross-examination at the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on Friday, November 28, 2025, EFCC counsel Mohammed Bashir informed the court that the agency could not substantiate Peter’s claim that his brothers fraudulently withdrew $800,000 from their joint company account.
According to the report, the EFCC lawyer was quoted as saying:
“We do not have it. It is his evidence. Let him prove it. I can’t give what I don’t have.”
The publication also noted that the agency denied having records of the 47 bank accounts Peter previously alleged were operated by Jude Okoye, and that documents tendered in court contradicted Peter’s assertion of owning 80% of Northside Entertainment Ltd.
However, Peter Okoye has now strongly pushed back on the narrative. In a statement shared across his social media platforms, the singer dismissed the reports as “jokes and propaganda,” insisting that no such statement was made in court by the EFCC investigator.
The unfolding situation has reignited public discussion around the long-standing rift between the Okoye brothers, with many awaiting further developments as the case continues.
