Nigerian afro-house star Niniola has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in a series of emotional posts shared on Instagram.
The Grammy-nominated singer revealed the heartbreaking news in the early hours of Wednesday through her Instagram Story, leaving fans and colleagues shocked across social media.
In one of the emotional messages, Niniola wrote, “God took him,” before following up with another post that read, “My husband died.” She later added, “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years,” alongside photos of herself and her late husband.
Michael Ndika, before his death, was reportedly the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.
As of the time of reporting, details surrounding his death have not been made public, and the singer has yet to provide further information regarding the circumstances.
Known for maintaining a private personal life despite her fame, Niniola rarely spoke publicly about her relationship, making the announcement even more emotional for many of her fans.
