“I’m Scared for People This December” Ruger Warns Fans Amid Rising Kidnapping Concerns

Nigerian singer Ruger has issued a stark warning ahead of the festive season, urging citizens and visitors to remain vigilant amid what he described as a surge in kidnapping incidents across the country.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Asiwaju crooner voiced deep concern for public safety as Nigerians gear up for the much-anticipated Detty December celebrations a season known for its influx of travelers, concerts, and large gatherings.

“I’m scared for people this December. Kidnapping has become a full-time business in some parts of Nigeria, and it’s only gonna get worse this festive season,” Ruger wrote. “People will travel back to their villages from abroad and from many other places in Nigeria. These bastards will strike hard.”

Ruger’s comments come amid growing reports of insecurity and abductions across several regions. His post quickly went viral, sparking widespread conversation about the need for increased personal and community safety during the holidays.

The singer urged fans to plan their movements carefully, avoid unnecessary late-night travel, and remain alert while attending concerts or family events.

While December is typically a time of joy, celebration, and music across Nigeria, Ruger’s message serves as a sobering reminder: staying safe should be everyone’s top priority this festive season.
