Cesc Fàbregas Addresses Como Future Amid Premier League Links
Former Cesc Fàbregas has spoken candidly about his future at Como, amid growing speculation linking him with a return to the Premier League.
The Spaniard, who previously starred for both Arsenal and Chelsea, has impressed in his early coaching career at Como. His impact has not gone unnoticed, with reports suggesting interest from several top European clubs particularly Chelsea, who are believed to be monitoring potential managerial options.
Fàbregas on a Possible Premier League Return
Speaking in a recent interview, Fàbregas reflected on his admiration for the Premier League but made it clear that he is not in a rush to leave his current role.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world. I have always been very, very clear about it. I felt it as a player, I feel it as a coach, as a fan,” he said.
He also revealed advice he once received from former Chelsea manager José Mourinho:
“Mourinho told me one day when I was at Chelsea, ‘I still have 30 years to work. So I could be here [Como] for 10 years, and you can still go to the Premier League in 12, 15 years.’”
Commitment to Como Project
Despite the external interest, Fàbregas emphasized that his focus remains firmly on Como. He described it as “very unlikely” that he would leave anytime soon, pointing to the club’s ongoing progress and stability as key reasons behind his decision.
Beyond football, personal factors also play a role. The former midfielder highlighted how settled he feels in Como, noting that his family’s happiness in the city is an important consideration.
Dismissing Chelsea Speculation
Fàbregas was quick to downplay links to clubs like Chelsea, insisting that entertaining such speculation would be premature.
He labeled it “stupid” to think about other opportunities at this stage, stressing that his priority is fully committed to Como’s development and their ongoing Serie A campaign.
Fàbregas’ comments underline a clear message: while the Premier League may remain a long-term ambition, his immediate focus is building something meaningful at Como.
