Burna Boy Addresses DJ Tunez Incident, Responds to Wizkid Criticism

Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has broken his silence following the controversy involving popular Nigerian DJ, DJ Tunez. The Grammy-winning artist used a recent Instagram Live session to directly address the situation, while also responding to criticism from fellow music heavyweight Wizkid.

Background: A Viral Altercation

In recent days, social media has been buzzing with reports of a physical altercation between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez. The incident quickly gained traction online, with multiple narratives emerging about what truly happened.

Tensions escalated further after Wizkid publicly weighed in on the situation. The singer accused Burna Boy and his team of carrying out a “10-man” assault on DJ Tunez, suggesting that the act was an unfair and excessive show of force. According to Wizkid, the alleged group attack stemmed from claims that DJ Tunez had refused to prioritize Burna Boy’s music.

Burna Boy’s Response

During his Instagram Live session, Burna Boy offered his own version of events while speaking to fast-rising Benin-born rapper Shallipopi. In the video, he firmly denied claims that multiple people were involved in the confrontation.

“Shalli, no be 10 people touch that guy oh. Na only me touch am, I swear on my mama. Two slaps na him I give am, I tell everybody make nobody touch am.”

With this statement, Burna Boy made it clear that he alone confronted DJ Tunez and insisted that no one else participated in the altercation.

Dismissing the Allegations

Burna Boy also used the opportunity to push back against Wizkid’s accusations, rejecting the narrative that he relied on a group to handle the situation. His response appeared aimed at reinforcing his stance that the incident did not involve any coordinated or collective attack.

The Bigger Picture

The situation has sparked widespread discussion within the Afrobeats community, highlighting ongoing tensions between some of the industry’s biggest names. While fans continue to debate the differing accounts, Burna Boy’s public statement adds a new layer to an already heated narrative.

As the story develops, attention remains fixed on whether DJ Tunez or Wizkid will respond further, and what this could mean for relationships within the Nigerian music scene.
