Organisers of Afro Nation Portugal, one of the world’s biggest Afrobeats festivals, have officially unveiled the star-studded lineup for its 2026 edition.

The world’s largest Afrobeats and Amapiano festival is set to return to the sun-soaked shores of the Algarve, promising another unforgettable celebration of African music and culture.

Scheduled to take place from July 3 to July 5, 2026, at the iconic Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, the festival will feature a powerful mix of global superstars, African legends, and rising talents.

Leading the charge are Nigerian megastars Wizkid and Asake, who will both make triumphant returns to the festival. Joining them as headliners is South African Grammy Award winner Tyla, who will headline Afro Nation Portugal for the first time. Burna Boy also returns as a top-billed headliner, reinforcing his status as one of the festival’s most consistent crowd-pullers.

LIT Stage: Global Star Power Meets African Excellence

The 2026 LIT Stage continues Afro Nation’s tradition of merging African brilliance with international appeal. American rap heavyweight Gunna has been confirmed as a special guest, alongside R&B stars Kehlani—making her Afro Nation debut—and Mariah the Scientist.

The lineup also blends established icons with emerging voices from across the continent and beyond:

New Afrotronic Stage Debuts in 2026

Reflecting the evolving sound of African music, Afro Nation 2026 will introduce a brand-new Afrotronic Stage, dedicated entirely to African electronic genres such as Afro House, Afro Tech, Gqom, and 3-Step. This addition marks a major expansion of the festival’s sonic identity.

Meanwhile, the fan-favourite Piano People Stage makes its return, spotlighting the best of Amapiano. The stage will be led by South African hitmakers Madumane (DJ Maphorisa), Uncle Waffles, and Focalistic, ensuring high-energy dance sets throughout the weekend.
